Terms, in plain English
The short version: Daybook is a tool to help you run your holiday lets. Free for 14 days, no card; then £15 a month. Your records are yours. Daybook reads your calendars and the emails you forward, never changes anything on the booking sites, never sends a message for you, and says when it couldn't see. The rest is below, in the same plain words. Using Daybook means you agree to these terms.
What Daybook is
Daybook is a website and app for people who run holiday lets. It puts your bookings from Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, a channel manager or your own direct bookings in one calendar, with what each stay earns you, your reminders, the next clean for your cleaner and a guest guide for each place. It is made for hosts with one to five places. These terms are the agreement between you and Daybook for as long as you use it.
Your free days and the price
Free for 14 days, no card. Everything is on from the first day, and nothing is charged unless you decide to keep Daybook. After the free days it is £15 a month. No VAT is added.
On day thirteen Daybook asks whether you'd like to keep it. If you choose to keep it, you give a card then and pay £15 a month. If you choose not to, you're offered another 7 days first, once, with no card. After that, Daybook closes until you keep it. Everything is kept as you left it, so if you come back later it is all still there.
The first 50 hosts to pay are Founding Hosts and keep £15 a month for as long as they stay with Daybook: not a discount now, a promise that their price never rises.
Paying
Stripe takes your card and your payments. Your card details go straight to Stripe; Daybook never sees or keeps them. You pay monthly. You can stop whenever you like: for now, email hello@daybookforhosts.com and it is stopped for you. You keep Daybook to the end of the month you've paid for, and nothing more is taken.
Your records
Your records are yours: your places, your bookings, your figures, your notes, your guest guides and what you tell the Clerk. Daybook reads the calendar links you give it and the booking emails you forward, and keeps what it reads so it can run your Daybook. It never sells your records and never uses them for advertising. You can ask at any time for everything to be deleted: email hello@daybookforhosts.com. The privacy page says who stores what, and where.
What Daybook does and doesn't promise
Daybook reads your calendars and the emails you forward, and says when it couldn't. It never changes anything on the booking sites: your availability and your prices on Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo stay as you set them. It tells you about a double booking once both bookings are on the calendars; it cannot prevent one. It prepares messages for your cleaner and your guests and never sends them: you send every message yourself. It never tells you what to charge. Daybook may be down or late sometimes, and says so on your board when it is. The figures it shows come from your records and the emails you forwarded, and are only as complete as those.
Our liability
Daybook is a tool to help you run your lets. The decisions, the bookings and the guests are yours, and so is checking anything that matters before you act on it. If Daybook gets something wrong, our liability to you is limited to the fees you have paid us in the twelve months before the problem. Nothing in these terms limits anything that the law does not allow to be limited.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change, we'll say so on this site and in the Friday letter, and the date at the top will change. If you keep using Daybook after a change, you agree to the new terms.
Who we are
