Sign up and set up your first place

From your email address to your first morning view.

Why this mattersSetup tells Daybook what your places are called, who cleans them, what guests pay on top of the room, and where your calendars are. With those, your first morning view is right from day one.

What you need

  • Your phone and your email.
  • The Airbnb app or website, for your calendar link. Vrbo, Booking.com or your agency's system too, if you use them.
  • Your cleaner's name and number, if you have a cleaner. You can add them later.
Space for a short video or a screenshot: signing up and the first three setup cards, on a phone.

  1. On daybookforhosts.com, tap Start free.
  2. On Open your Daybook, type your email and tap Email me a link. The page says to check your email.
  3. In the email called Sign in to Daybook, tap Sign in within 15 minutes. You land on Set up your Daybook.

Tell Daybook about your place

  1. First, what should we call you? Type your name in Your name and tap Continue.
  2. What's your property called? Type it in Property name. Only you see it, so call it what you call it.
  3. Who handles changeovers at your place? Choose I do (or someone I book) or My agency or manager does. Then add your cleaner's name, choose how you message them (WhatsApp, Text message or I'll copy it myself) and add their number. Or tap I'll add my cleaner later.
  4. So the figures for your place are true. Type the cleaning fee and pet fee guests pay (0 is fine), check the three percentages, and choose How Booking.com pays you.

Why this mattersA payout includes the fees guests pay on top of the room. With the fees recorded, every figure Daybook shows is what a night earned for the room.

Let Daybook see your bookings

  1. On Let Daybook see what's booked at your place, paste your Airbnb calendar link. Not sure where it is? Tap How do I find my Airbnb calendar link? In Airbnb: tap your listing, go to Availability, scroll to Sync calendars, tap Export calendar and copy the link.
  2. Add your Vrbo, Booking.com or agency calendar links in the boxes below it, if you have them. Wait for Checking… to clear on each one. A link that isn't a calendar is refused, with the reason.
  3. Have another place? Tap + Add another and go through the cards again. Otherwise tap Continue →.
  4. On …and the booking emails, tap Copy the address, then Finish setup. What to do with the address

Finish

  1. The next page says Daybook is watching your place. If you have your past bookings to hand, you can upload them under Now hand me your records; the first read of your places is ready at six the next morning.
  2. Tap Open your Daybook →. Your board opens with Finish setting up: Add your cleaner, Make your guest guide and Add your booking history.
  3. Bookmark the page. It is your own private Daybook address, and it opens without signing in.

What happens next
